I am very sorry Erinzdad. I am going through a similar experience with both parents. Dad has cancer which has spread. He had prostate surgery but they did not get it all. Also he has melonoma which has also spread all over his body. He had eight operations this year. It is only a matter of time. He is losing so much weight.
Mom is bedridden with a messed up hip which she broke. The pins are out an inch and a half because two ambulance driver dropped her and then fell on her right after her surgery. She also had six heart stints over the last two years. She is on 23 medications.
They are facing bankruptcy in their mid seventies with all the medical bills.
I know the pain...but remember to care for the living and those who survive. Funerals are for the living and not for those who pass. It is the way we cope with death.
Above all reach out to your friends. You need to talk to others and share.
